It’s 20 years since Nunhems began is breeding programme for Multileaf lettuce and the brand, which is now part of BASF plc, will celebrate the fact throughout the coming year with a series of stories and online events.
According to the company, ‘Over these 20 years we have built an impressive portfolio with the support of growers, processors, and other partners in the chain. It is time to celebrate this success.’
Pointing out that the Multileaf brand includes many colours, shapes, formats and textures, with varieties suitable for a number of different growing systems, the company explained that ach quarter of the year will focus on a specific topic around Multileaf lettuces. This includes consumer perceptions in the spring, growing methods and consumer experience in the summer, and later on in the year what the future might look like for Multileaf lettuce.
“The first quarter will be about sharing the wonderful stories of the past 20 years,” said the company. “How did we get to this point? And we talk about the transformations that Multileaf as a type and our business have undergone. Our breeders will share their experiences, hurray moments and challenges. We will focus on the versatility and diverse application of Multileaf.”
