Global Plant Genetics is delighted to announce the employment of Iulia Negoita in a key new role within the company. Iulia has just joined the business and will be responsible for the business’s licensing activities, as well as a range of other areas of IP management. She has a well-rounded background in horticulture, including a MSc in Agricultural Consulting. Having taken a recent career break to travel across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, Iulia is looking forward to the new challenge ahead.
Iulia commented: “I am really looking forward to working with the GPG business, especially its exciting range of breeders and clients across the world. Even from my recent world travels, I can see the huge possibilities in developing markets across the globe for healthy products like berries, asparagus and grapes. It is a great time to be involved in these industry sectors and I’m keen to impart my skills on the business for the benefit of all our key stakeholders wherever they are based.”
Global Plant Genetics represents some of the world’s leading breeders of crops such as blueberries, strawberries, asparagus, blackberries, grapes and raspberries. It is responsible for protecting and commercialising new varieties from these crop types with leading produce businesses, growers and nurseries all over the globe.
The GPG business has developed its world-class IP portfolio into a whole range of territories in recent times and the prospects for the next few years are extremely bright. Commenting on the new appointment, Jamie Petchell stated, “it is great to have Iulia join our expanding team. She will perform a key role within the company and will be an important link between our breeders and client base. Iulia brings with her an energy and high skill level that are key values throughout our business. We would like to wish her every success in her new role with us.”
