Westminster Insight says that its Future of Farming Conference in March 2020 will unite key stakeholders to explore Britain’s farm policy landscape, and in particular the likely implications of Brexit and any Agriculture Bill.
Other topics to be discussed include new technologies, consumer trends and environmental concerns and how these are impacting on the farming community. Patrick Holden CBE, Director at Sustainable Foods Trust, will offer practical solutions to harmonising agriculture and environmentalism to lower the industry’s carbon footprint, while William Bain from the British Retail Consortium will explore how the UK can balance high farming standards with profitability and competitiveness with overseas markets.
According to the organisers, ‘Experts from the sector will discuss the sustainability of current methods and progress towards a more sustainable system for farmers, as we’ll review the trend towards organic, ethically sourced and plant-based products, and the impacts on farmer’s production plans.”
