Jane King, AHDB’s CEO since 2015, is to step down, it has been announced.
With the Board’s new five-year strategy and business plan almost complete, she said in a statement it was ‘a good time to hand the leadership baton to someone fresh’.
She will stay on for a maximum of 11 months until a successor is found. Her focus will continue to be on leading the strategic change programme. “The new five-year strategy will see AHDB playing a crucial role in helping to grow British agriculture and horticulture at a time of great change and opportunity,” she said.
Meanwhile, growers will be voting in January on whether they support the continuation of AHDB Horticulture with a statutory levy.
