Farming Minister Mark Spencer has added his support to the Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture (TIAH) which offers tailored advice and tools to support career development, including online training and testing.
The service, which is still being developed, will be formally launched in January, but has already attracted interest from industry. “The institute has recently launched a test version of its online support platform and I encourage each of you to actively engage with it and share your views,” said Mark Spencer. “Your feedback will play a big role in its future development, making sure it is aligned with the evolving needs of the farming and growing community.”
TIAH’s chief executive, Stephen Jacob, added it is vital that the online service meets the needs of everyone working in the industry. “We’d love as many people as possible to get involved in helping us test it before our full launch next January,” he said. “It’s a great opportunity to get free access to skills and careers support while also helping us fine-tune the service.
“Since the test version of the online service went live in May, we’ve been pleased to see increasing interest from farmers and growers. We’re receiving a wide range of feedback around content and usability which is helping us as develop and refine the service ahead of launching TIAH membership. Many users have told us the service is useful in helping them find training and learning opportunities to the build their skills, and to record their CPD in their own personal hub.”
