English Wine Week hopes to inspire more people to get to know English wines better and help them buy from their local vineyards. This year the event has been moved to the week of the 19th – 27th June to help to celebrate ‘the start of summer’ with Summer Solstice on 21st June and Midsummer Day on 24th June.
The initiative was established by Wines of Great Britain (WineGB) the national association for the English and Welsh wine industry whose mission is to advance the multiple interests of all its members to establish Great Britain as one of the world’s great quality wine regions.
With the aim to encourage vineyards, retail outlets and influencers across the country to celebrate and promote English wines and offer an opportunity for customers to purchase wines from all over England.
The week will also see the release of the WineGB Awards medal and category trophy results on the 24th June and you can join Co-Chairs Susie Barrie MW and Oz Clarke OBE on an Instagram Live at 7pm to toast the winners.
