D.O. Cava has joined the Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW) international supporter community. D.O. Cava joins a community of 36 existing supporters across the world helping to bolster the IMW’s mission of excellence and interactions and learning across the global wine community.
Cava is the D.O. which exports the most wine from Spain with over 70% of its sales being made internationally. Its 349 associated wineries are present in over 100 countries. The D.O. encompasses more than 93,900 acres of vineyards and more than 6,100 winegrowers.
D.O. Cava alongside the IMW look forward to bringing more awareness to Cava across the IMW community.
Executive Director of the IMW, Julian Gore-Booth says: “The IMW is very happy to welcome Cava as a supporter. Some 200 producers are now registered with the Cava Consejo Regulador and knowing and understanding Cava represents an important part of the journey of any Master of Wine (MW) or MW student. We look forward to developing our relationship over the years ahead.”
