The week of 22nd – 28th May 2017 is British Tomato Week.
It’s good to know that when you buy something from your supermarket or greengrocer you are getting exactly what you want. Buying British tomatoes are good for the consumers and good for the British grower.
Four out of five tomatoes now eaten in the UK are imported and consumers complain that they don’t taste like they used to? But it doesn’t have to be that way; British fruit has never tasted better, with a fantastic range now available, from super sweet cherries and baby plums to favourite classics, both on and off the vine.
British Tomato week runs from 22nd – 28th May but the promotion of British tomatoes will continue all summer long, further details from www.britishtomatoes.co.uk.
