Wyevale Garden Centres, South West Growers Show, Floranova, Ball Colegrave, and BPOA and Peter Seabrook are looking to support students of horticulture with thousands of pounds worth of funding.
Applicants have just over one week left to apply for one of the Sponsored Scholarships which are available through the David Colegrave Foundation (DCF).
Opportunities include funding, study tours and work experience:
Wyevale Garden Centres Scholarship – £1,500 for two students each with an interest in garden centre retailing, plus work in a Wyevale Garden Centre.
South West Growers Show Scholarship – £1,500 for any student studying any aspect of commercial or production horticulture.
Floranova Ornamental Horticulture Research Scholarship – £1,500 for a student who is keen to pursue a research career in the horticultural industry.
Ball Colegrave Scholarship – £2,500, for a student or new worker, to travel to Europe to develop knowledge and experience in bedding plant production and marketing.
British Protected Ornamentals Association (BPOA)- Peter Seabrook Bursary – £1,000 for one or more students studying commercial horticulture.
The DCF Sponsored Scholarships are part of the DCF Scholarship Season which runs from Sep 2014 to Jan 2015. They follow the Student Scholarships which received applications from many students, representing 18 colleges across the UK and saw six students awarded £1,000 each.
Students after a Sponsored Scholarship should get their applications in by Friday, 30 January 2015.
