During the FlowerTrials from June 10–13, Walter Blom Plants will present three highly promising new cultivars: Hemerocallis ‘Stella’, Verbascum ‘Peach Champagne’, and Polemonium ‘Violet Eye’.
These introductions mark the company’s 15th anniversary, celebrating its growth into a leading specialist in perennials and shrubs through tissue culture, plugs, and (unrooted) cuttings.
The new varieties stand out for their flowering power, ease of cultivation, and strong commercial potential:
- Hemerocallis ‘Stella’: A compact daylily (approx. 35 cm) with continuous flowering from May to October in three vibrant colours. Ideal for container production and highly resilient under variable climate conditions.
- Verbascum ‘Peach Champagne’: A reimagined Verbascum with peach-coloured flower spikes and a soft pink heart. Fast-growing with minimal input, reaching maturity in 10–12 weeks and guaranteed to bloom 100%.
- Polemonium ‘Violet Eye’: An innovative selection featuring finely feathered lilac-toned foliage and crisp white flowers with a striking violet centre. Early and profuse blooming, mildew-resistant, and reliably hardy.
