One of the big surprises at EIMA was the Bakus robot on the SDF stand, and also outside in the demonstration area visitors could see a second version of the autonomous machine in action, where it travelled up and down a couple of rows of vines and then turned automatically at the end.
SDF acquired the six-year-old French firm VitiBot last summer.
Based in the Reims area, there are two versions of the electrically powered vehicle – the Bakus-S (3.5m long x 1.75m wide x 2m high) and Bakus-L (3.5m long x 1.95m wide x 2.5m high).
