For the second year VRH (Vale Royal Horticultural Ltd) will base their Primrose Open Days at Pershore College, Pershore Worcester –”We are extremely pleased to partner with VRH on this project at Pershore College. It gives our students and staff an insight into the industry and first-hand experience of commercial Primrose varieties and knowledge of seed production and plant breeding.”
Enthused John Farmer Commercial and Resources Manager at Pershore “For us it’s the perfect venue, ideally centrally situated with excellent facilities, it’s a pleasure to have so many students passing through the display as well as many of the leading growers and retailers of the UK” acknowledged Howard Lupton, the breeder of most of the varieties on show.
You will need to make an appointment but it’s very worthwhile to spend some time amongst an array of high quality British bred Primrose.
On display in a range of pot sizes, packs and containers will be over 50 individual varieties, added value lines like Clotted Cream and Appleblossom along with new series Spring Supreme and Spring Titan, there will be unique lines like Frosty Morn and Ember Glow plus the new Blueberry Ice and Strawberry Ice and varieties like Olde English, Lovely Laced, Pinky & Perky and Marshmallow some of the range destined for volume pack or pot production.
On top of that there will be experimental lines with potential for future sales.Where else could you see such a mouth-watering range of Primrose and it’s worth noting these varieties are bred in the UK and the seed is produced in the UK!
