The NFU is seeking proactive, ambitious, and forward-thinking individuals to join its Horticulture and Potatoes Board. Applications are open until 11 February for those keen to help shape policies that impact the sector and represent the interests of growers across the UK.
Growers today face unparalleled challenges, including new trading arrangements with the EU, supply chain disruptions, and significant inflationary pressures.
The NFU Horticulture and Potatoes Board plays a crucial role in representing members’ interests and influencing government policy development.
Looking ahead, the board will focus on key priorities such as ensuring fairness within the supply chain, establishing a border regime that supports biosecurity and smooth trade flows, improving access to labour, addressing the use of peat in growing media, securing future productivity funding, and determining the future of the EU Fruit and Vegetable Aid Scheme.
