Fryer’s Roses, part of the Blue Diamond Group of garden centres, (which is the third largest garden centre retail group in the UK), unveiled a limited edition rose at Hampton Court Flower Show in aid of the international development charity TREE AID.
TREE AID was given the honour of naming the beautiful rose which is called ‘Little Angel.’ Little Angel is a beautiful white or near white floribunda rose with semi double flowers that will continue to bloom throughout the summer. The blooms have a light fragrance. It has dark, shiny leaves and a bushy growth to a height of approximately 80-100cm. £1 from every sale of this rose will be donated by Fryer’s Roses and Blue Diamond to Tree Aid.
TREE AID work with some of the poorest communities in Africa. Through planting trees in African drylands, TREE AID grows vital food and helps people to earn an income and improves the environment. Blue Diamond have been supporting TREE AID for over a year; and have already helped plant over 3,000 trees in the drylands of Africa.
TREE AID‘s CEO, John Moffett, commented: “We are ever so grateful to Fryer’s Roses and Blue Diamond for offering the opportunity to TREE AID to name the rose. This is a very exciting year for TREE AID and the association with the ‘Little Angel’ rose will help raise awareness of the charity and our work as we prepare to make this landmark anniversary.”.
Fryer’s Roses also unveiled a new rose in aid of the anti-slavery charity HOPE FOR JUSTICE at Hampton Court Flower Show. This new rose, called “Hope for Justice”, is a compact Floribunda with deep red petals and glossy, dark green leaves. This rose will grow to approximately 60cm in height making it ideal for planting in containers.
