To raise awareness of careers within horticulture for young people, Writtle College in Essex has joined forces with a number of national and international organisations – the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), Lantra, British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI), Chartered Institute of Horticulture (CIoH) and GROW. Writtle have produced a video – “Writtle Futures” – which is available to see on www.youtube.com/writtlecollege.
Craig Emery, marketing manager at Writtle, said: “There’s a huge demand for people within the industry. Hopefully this campaign will change a few perceptions and encourage more people to consider horticulture as a career path after school or college. Students are able to join us at a variety of study levels too, from apprenticeships, short and college courses through to degrees and post-graduate programmes.”
