Johnsons of Whixley Garden Centre Sales, part of the Johnsons of Whixley Group, has enhanced its reputation as one of the UK’s top growers by winning Silver for one its plants at the National Plant Show New Plant Awards.

Johnsons’ Veronica Moody Blue Sky Blue was awarded the Silver Medal in the Herbaceous Perennials category at the National Plant Show, held at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire on Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 June.

Johnsons’ Silver medal follows a Bronze in 2015 for their Berberis Thunderbolt, and a Silver last year for their Geranium Miss Heidi.

This latest award follows the company’s achievement at The Family Business of the Year Awards, where it was named Runner-Up in the Yorkshire category.

Johnsons of Whixley Garden Centre Sales manager, Mark Reynard, said: “Once again, we had a brilliant time at the National Plant Show in the company of colleagues and friends from across the industry, and we’re proud to be coming home with our third medal in as many years. The event provided a great opportunity to renew acquaintances and build new connections, while we believe that the new layout and design of our stand helped us engage with guests much more effectively. We were delighted with the positive comments we received from our existing customers, including in relation to our new online ordering system, which we demonstrated at the Show, as well as the high level of interest we received from potential new customers.”
