James Barnes will step down from his position as Chairman at the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM) in September, marking the end of his tenure, which began in 2019.
A long-standing and respected champion of the environmental horticulture sector, James Barnes has been a driving force at the HTA, bringing over 25 years of invaluable business experience to the role. Working with the President, the CEO and the Board, James has played a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the HTA and promoting the interests of its members.

His commitment to the sector is undeniable and will continue, and his leadership has been instrumental in navigating numerous challenges and opportunities. Under James’ guidance, the senior leadership team at the HTA has been bolstered with the introduction of a CEO and new director roles who are effectively delivering a new strategy and value for members.
