Allium Seeds have announced that their Managing Director, John Constable, will step down from his current role at the end of 2020. He will continue to coordinate/advise on a number of their breeding projects.
John has spent all of his 42 year career closely associated with the UK Vegetable industry; starting with a field scale brassica transplant producer near Pershore in 1979, he subsequently joined Elsoms Seeds as an area representative based in the Vale of Evesham. He moved to join their head office team in 1982 and over 2 periods with the company, which totalled 25 years, progressed to become crop manager for bulb onion, brassica and legumes before he left to join Allium Seeds in 2012. During the 1990s he spent 6 years involved in field scale brassica production in S Lincolnshire.
We at the Vegetable Farmer Magazine wish John all the best on his future plans.
