Lincolnshire-based Househam Sprayers has called in administrators according to reports. The news came a week after reports suggested that the business, which is based in Woodhall Spa, posted a notice of intention to appoint administrators, protecting it from creditor action for a period of ten days while it tried to find a way forward.
Founded in 1970, the company which manufactures self-propelled crop sprayers, employs around 50 people. It was awarded a £450,000 loan by MEIF Maven Debt Finance East and South East Midlands via the Recovery Loan Scheme in 2022 to help if fulfil its expanding order book.
Although the company itself has not commented, a spokesperson for FRP Advisory – one of the two administrators – said, “The administrators are currently assessing options for the future of the business.”
It is believed that Sandy Kinninmonth and James Prior of FRP Advisory were appointed as joint administrators after HMRC filed a petition to wind up the company due to outstanding debts, a process also known as compulsory liquidation.
