Hort Science Online 2 (HSO 2) is now live with a topical line-up of workstations to help prepare growers for the coming season.
“Switching to a digital platform has enable us to expand these popular events,” says ICL Marketing Communications Manager Adam Ferjani. “HSO 1 attracted over 240 professional growers, advisors and students.”
Featuring seven interesting and topical workstations, HSO 2 includes a Syngenta presentation – filmed on a working nursery – shining a light on the science of formulation and its impact on the effectiveness of plant protection products.
ICL’s Technical Manager Andrew Wilson looks at how to mitigate nutrient deficiencies, while in-house IPM Specialist Martin Donnelly – teams up with Nicholas van Cutsem from Ecospray – to look at how garlic can aid vine weevil control and introduces ICL’s new award-winning biorational – Pitcher GR.
Natalie Porter, of the Happy Plant Company, discusses how growers will have to adapt their businesses to move forward in a post Covid world.
Returning to the important subject of biosecurity, HSO 2 features a workstation devoted to Xylella and what growers need to know, including the Brigit Project which is helping to prevent its appearance within UK horticulture. Another entitled Plant Healthy – by Alistair Yeomans, Acting Scheme Manager for Plant Healthy Certification Scheme – looks at biosecurity and collaboration between Government and industry. The final work station will focus on the science of wetting agents (H2Gro) and their practical applications; Amega Sciences Alexander Barr and ICL Technical Area Sales Manager Steve Chapman will be your guides.
“As before, participants have the flexibility to access the event over several weeks and can qualify for CPD points,” explains Adam. “HSO 2 will remain live until 19 November 2020.”
