On August 30th, fourteen employees from GRIMME UK and Deutsche Leasing will embark on the National Three Peaks Challenge. The group will set out to climb the three highest mountains in the United Kingdom in a single challenge. After three months of intensive training, they will have just under a day to reach their goal. The team aims to raise £5,000 in support of RABI – Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, a charity providing financial assistance and mental health support to farmers from all over the country.
“We chose RABI since our priority is to support farming communities and families facing hardship, which closely aligns with GRIMME’s family values,” said Patrick Graf-Grote, Managing Director. “This challenge is also about further developing collaboration and teamwork skills. It’s an opportunity to strengthen bonds within our team and bring together employees from different sectors and regions across the country.”
Three months ago, our employees began their preparations for the route, which demands intensive training, teamwork, and efficiency. In the picture, you can see our Marketing Manager getting some training on Ben Nevis in the past few weeks.
The Three Peaks Challenge requires its participants to ascend and descend all three mountains while withstanding the time pressure and harsh weather conditions. Starting their route at 8:30 am on Ben Nevis in Scotland, the team will then complete Scafell Pike and aim to finish at Snowdon early the next morning.
Climbing the highest mountains in the UK in just 24 hours is not only a test of endurance but also a race against time, meaning the participants will have to push themselves to their limits. Their determination reflects GRIMME’s deep commitment to supporting the agriculture sector.
