Chris Newenham, managing director of Wilkin & Sons, was installed as Master of the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers on Friday (23 January).
“I am truly honoured and humbled to have been installed as Master of the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers, an ancient City Livery Company whose tradition dates back over 700 years and continues to thrive today,” said Chris Newenham managing director of Wilkin & Sons. “I am looking forward to building on the excellent work of my predecessors and would like to thank the Immediate Past Master, Wardens and Liverymen for their support.”
Chris joined the Fruiterers in 2011, he is a former chairman of their Awards Council, is an Honorary Doctor of the University of Essex, an Honorary Fellow of Writtle University College and a Nuffield Farming Scholar. He became Master of the Company in January 2026.

Chris has a busy year engaging with fellow members and the wider community in both the industry and the City of London and will bring his long standing fruit growing experience to the role.
