The Commercial Horticultural Association is pleased to announce that a British group will be attending the Fruit Attraction exhibition in Madrid on 4th-6th October 2022.
“Following the success of our group in 2019, we are back with a larger presence at the event with some returning exhibitors and new companies who are excited to be entering this market for the first time,” said Pat Flynn, Trade Association Manager for the CHA.
Fruit Attraction is the place for companies from the fruit and vegetable industry to present its innovations, products and services to the international distribution market. It is the perfect platform to create solid business relationships and open opportunities in new markets.
The British Pavilion, located on stand B09 in Hall 8, is supported and subsidised by the Department for International Trade in the UK, and the Head of Agri-Tech will be present to assist people wishing to export.
In addition, the DIT Team at the British Embassy in Madrid has secured a fabulous opportunity for the British group of companies to join a dedicated UK pitching session at the stand of the Caixa Bank on the morning of 6th October during Fruit Attraction. The Caixa Bank is the leading bank in the agriculture sector in Spain, providing finance to many large and small producers. There are currently significant subsidies available to those who want to digitalise their farms and invest in new cleaner technologies which will contribute to the decarbonisation of the sector and our companies, who have products/technologies related to sustainable agriculture are able to facilitate these subsidies.
Here’s what visitors can expect from the British exhibitors:
Martin Lishman Ltd
Martin Lishman’s latest innovation is the ImpacTrack family of synthetic food shapes which replicate the size, density and movement characteristics of fruit and vegetables prone to damage and bruising during handling and transport. ImpacTrack measures temperature and
shock in the production line, and transmits this via Bluetooth to the ML Sensing App, which locates damage sources and improves quality control. Operators can also monitor transport shipments. Also on display will be a range of Palintest soil testing kits and the TuberLog potato bruising and damage logger, a device that identifies damage and bruise causes in potato handling machinery.
Haith
Haith is renowned for its market-leading innovative machinery and systems for root crop handling, designed with ease of maintenance, gentle handling and efficiency in mind. These range from single machines to turnkey facilities to suit growers, processors, and packers of all sizes. This year Haith has been awarded its second Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation Category, this time for the Rota-Tip TE Box Tippler, which is used to transfer fresh produce onto washing, sizing, and packing lines. Haith has recently launched the ProSort, designed to automate the removal of stone, clod and foreign debris from root crops on farm.
Green Connection
Green Connection offers unique technologies to maximise nutrient and water availability to crops, resulting in lower amounts of inputs needed to obtain high yields and better crop performance under stress conditions. The company focused on increasing the natural fertility of soils by adding patented molecules to boost the activity of soil microbes that solubilise phosphate and fix atmospheric nitrogen into the soil. Its granular technologies contain nitrogenase inhibitors to increase the amount of nitrogen that ends up in crops and minimise environmental impact, whereas the different speeds of phosphorous release can ensure enough phosphorus is available throughout the growing season.
Kroptek
Kroptek’s mission is to drive the new farming revolution by empowering growers around the world to grow high quality crops locally, sustainably, and profitably all year round. Founded as a research-based company investigating the benefits of broad-spectrum LEDs, Kroptek now boasts a range of versatile LED solutions suitable for any crop type, growing environment or budget. Alongside its portfolio of high-performance LED grow lights, the company will also be showcasing its extended client portfolio, from vertical CEA solutions to strawberries and medical cannabis. Kroptek will be represented at Fruit Attraction by its division in Spain.
