CGA Conference 2019

The role of technology in protected cropping, including the potential of autonomous production, is a key element in this year’s Cucumber Growers Association conference in Waltham Abbey, Essex on October 9.

David May of Lincoln University will discuss the changing role of technology in the sector while Klaas van Egmond, a crop engineer for Dutch agronomists Delphy, looks at the lessons learned from the Autonomous Greenhouse Challenge programme, led by Wageningen UR, now in its second year.

AHDB senior scientist Joe Martin reports on the latest results from crop protection projects, including work on powdery mildew and biopesticides, and Dutch crop consultant Mark van der Werf reviews putting New Generation Growing into practice in the UK.
