British Tomato Fortnight returns from 2–15 June, led by the British Tomato Growers’ Association (BTGA), to celebrate the flavour, freshness and sustainability of UK-grown tomatoes. The campaign champions local growers, encourages seasonal eating, and highlights the industry’s contribution to food security and net-zero goals.
The campaign is backed by strong retailer engagement, with supermarkets and independents supporting point-of-sale promotion, grower stories and recipe content. It offers a platform for UK producers to connect with buyers, chefs, and consumers, while reinforcing the benefits of choosing British-grown over imported alternatives.
Promotional activities began in April with a VonHaus partnership giveaway that drew nearly 2,000 entries. This was followed by widespread social media content, including British tomato recipes and grower features.
British Tomato Fortnight 2025 will also feature exclusive interviews and video content from UK growers, alongside a suite of new recipes and blog articles. Content will highlight the diversity of British tomato varieties and how they’re being used in foodservice, retail and hospitality.
The BTGA has sent branded British tomato boxes to chefs, influencers and media, encouraging wider awareness across food and lifestyle platforms. British Tomato Fortnight is a timely opportunity to promote the value of British horticulture, support domestic supply chains and showcase the sector’s resilience and quality-led approach.
