British Garden Centres is delighted to announce it is sponsoring the first-ever Colegrave Seabrook Foundation reception at the HTA National Plant Show later this month.
The UK’s largest family-run garden centre group has joined forces with the foundation to host a networking afternoon for horticultural students to mix with industry peers, gain valuable knowledge, enhance learning and gain insight as they start their blossoming careers.
With the current skill shortages in the sector and the low-employee market, attracting young people into the horticulture sector has never been more important. The Colegrave Seabrook Foundation was set up 30 years ago to support the future of the ornamental horticultural industry in the UK by offering multiple scholarships to those who are set on a career in horticulture. It does this by working with colleges and offering bursaries and scholarships to horticulture students.
The reception will take place after the careers seminar at the National Plant Show which will bring a useful focus to the training and development of people in the industry. Jeff Colegrave, Chair of Trustees will make a short welcome speech before attendees and employers’ network to discuss the opportunities and vibrancy of working within the sector.
The reception will take place on Tuesday 20th June at 3 pm in the seminar area of the show. The HTA National Plant Show takes place on the 20th and 21st of June at Stoneleigh Park.
