Bejo has announced the details of its annual Open Days which will take place from 23 to 27 September 2025 in Warmenhuizen in the Netherlands.
Over the four days, vegetable growers and supply chain partners from around the world will be able to discover the latest varieties, innovations in seed technology and sustainable mechanisation, and there will be plenty of opportunity to discuss opportunities and challenges within the sector.
Together with its customers, Bejo is constantly researching changing field conditions and evolving market and consumer trends, and these insights form the basis for the development of new and improved vegetable varieties that enable growers to harvest healthy and tasty vegetables worldwide. As always, this year’s demo fields will feature varieties with a focus on disease resistance, storage quality, yield, taste and appearance.
In particular, leafy crops will be highlighted this year, and a by-invitation exclusive leafy vegetable symposium will also take place under the heading: ‘All you need for salad, Bejo has it!’ Elsewhere, New red pointed cabbage variety Red Power and popular snack vegetables such as carrots, kohlrabi and celery will be displayed. In the greenhouse for fruit crops, Bejo will show a wide assortment of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and gherkins, with the focus on the latest developments and innovations.
Visitors will also be able to get an insight into the world of breeding, seed treatment and technology during tours of the Seed Processing Facility and Research Centre, while the Seed Research Expo will give visitors an in-depth insight into current topics within seed research, such as seed quality, seed treatment and pollination. There will also be a focus on bee research by Bejo’s own beekeepers. Live demonstrations of innovative sowing and weed control techniques will take place on the demo fields, provided by several suppliers to the agricultural sector, and the use of natural enemies in various crops will also be shown.
