With 4 weeks to go until the British Tomato Conference, the British Tomato Growers’ Association are gearing up for another great event which provides industry and technical updates, engaging Q&A, opportunities to comment on key issues, chances to see and connect with the latest technology and developments for the sector, and, importantly, catch-up with colleagues and friends over a delicious evening meal!
Primarily focused on growers, the event is a highlight of the UK protected edibles industry calendar, this year with insightful speaker and panel sessions themed around sustainability – in the market, in energy, in the environment, in succession and in finance. Delegates will receive updates on a range of key topics, as well as insights into the direction of travel for the industry and the wider activity of the British Tomato Growers’ Association.
Bringing together growers, suppliers, allied industries, retailers, researchers, etc. together, the conference is also a prime opportunity to network, and catch-up with colleagues old and new. With 40 trade stands and sponsors due to be present, there will be the latest information, technology and developments in crop protection, energy, seed breeding, packaging, glasshouse equipment, CO2 enrichment, and more for delegates to learn about and discuss.
Following a day of speaker sessions, panels, networking and visiting trade stands, there will be a drinks reception, a superb post-conference dinner and we will welcome back a hugely entertaining and knowledgeable after dinner speaker, Professor David Hughes. David will deliver another insightful and enjoyable session on the fresh produce market and the opportunities and challenges for the sector.
