The Bayer Tomato Demo Greenhouse is ready to go. The Bayer Tomato Demo Greenhouse was replanted on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, using new and existing varieties from the Nunhems high-tech tomato range. After a highly successful season, the site on Noordlandseweg in ‘s Gravenzande was thoroughly cleaned and prepared for another successful demo year.
This year, the emphasis is on the widely expanded range, including the commercial varieties Progression, Foundation, Extension, Commotion, Direction, and Competition. In addition, the greenhouse has been set up with trial lots for promising trial varieties in various segments, including Snack and Cocktail. The Tomato Demo Greenhouse offers growers, consultants, and representatives from the retail and wholesale sectors valuable insights into new developments in the tomato breeding program, as once again this year a wide range of new material has been released from the screening program in a number of segments.
The Demo Greenhouse will be open to visitors starting in March. Of course, Bayer will offer the opportunity to visit the demo fields in an early stage of cultivation this year as well, so visitors can gain a clear picture of the speed of development and early production times of the varieties on display.
