Balfour 1503 Classic Cuvée has won a gold medal at the recent Decanter Awards. Available through Majestic, this award winning wine is one of a new range of 1503 sparkling wines produced on the Hush Heath Estate in Staplehurst, Kent. Wine Producer Richard Balfour-Lynn said: “We only launched the Balfour 1503 Classic Cuvée in November 2014 and we are delighted that it has already won gold. 1503 is the year in which the Hush Heath Manor was built.”
Decanter describe the wine, which blends Pinot Noir with Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier as Broad, powerful, toasty and ripe autolytic fruit with notes of baked apples and light camomile hints. There’s a marshmallow lightness to the palate, with gentle pastry notes, excellent, elegant balance and serious length.
