Craft cider maker Cornish Orchards was awarded two medals in the prestigious International Cider Awards. Their flagship Gold Cider was awarded Gold, while the Heritage Cider, made with traditional Cornish apple varieties won Bronze.
The competition forms part of the International Brewing Awards, which are often dubbed ‘the Oscars of the brewing industry’ and are judged in style-based categories, with both Cornish Orchards entries successful in the Cider Apple Class- Medium. They have not only been recognised for their fantastic flavour, but also their appeal to an international market of cider drinkers.
Head Cider Maker Chris Newton was delighted with Cornish Orchard’s success at the awards, saying: ‘We know we make outstanding craft ciders, but it’s fantastic to be recognised by such a respected panel of judges too.’
This week, a group from Cornish Orchards travelled to London to attend the glamorous awards ceremony at the Guildhall. Chris Newton, along with Founder Andy Atkinson, Sales & Marketing Manager Dan Frost and Trade Marketing Manager Danielle Jones attended the event to officially receive the medals.
Danielle Jones commented ‘We are so proud to receive these awards from such a prestigious competition- occasions like this really reinforce the hard work and dedication of all the team at Cornish Orchards’.
