Delamore customers recently visited German nurseries. The group initially visited the Volmary Fleuronova production site where the UK growers were able to see the magnitude of the German young plant operation. This was followed by a tour of the trial ground where 4,000 trial plants were on display.
They also visited the Hellebore and Hydrangea breeder which has some of the most advanced plant production and cold storage facilities in Europe. Even cucumber growing was included in the visit and the group had an overview of the Landguard cash and carry facility.
As Chris Finlay, Delamore’s commercial director, commented: “When we visited Landguard and saw over 1,000 loading bays we knew that we were about to tour a serious operation!” Growers on the visit included representatives from Argenta, Darby, Four Oaks, Hawksmill, Hillier, Johnsons, Marshalls Seeds, Meredith, Neame Lea, Quantil, Wyeplants and Wyevale Nurseries.
